Every developer/package seems to write their own - I am wondering if there are any packages out there for a software provider to use to do simple tasks like:


  *   Get started from time to time to check a web site to see if updated files are present

  *   Which URL and which file(s) to check configurable by programmer

  *   If update found, downloads file and processes it - may be unzipping and/or running an installer

  *   reports back to web site or via email or log file that an update was processed.

Nothing too complex, and was planning to write a simple such updater, but if there is something already respectable out there - what do others do?
