Coming from SVN, Git has several new concepts that one must learn and
understand, otherwise no UI is going to help, it's just going to be more
confusing. Compare to SVN the main advantage of Git is more powerful at
merging changes to different branches, but it's also more complex and took
me a while to get used to. You need to know more advanced features like
stash/cherry-pick/rebase to make it more beneficial than SVN's simple
checkout/commit.
As for tools, I use a combination of command line and Atlassin's SourceTree.
