myOffice Email MessageI heard somewhere about Delphi projects on GitHub being quite extensive. Other than that I worked with someone who knew git and was keen for the team to try it – all were using Tortoise/SVN. By all accounts excellent for security and branching, and somewhat more complex than Mercurial (similar distributed version control). Quite a lot more complex than SVN etc and unless doing lots of branching likely not worth the learning curve was the general conclusion.

I haven’t heard how good the Tortoise shell is for it, and have been considering trying it for my stuff so I also would be most interested to hear.

I bet its thoroughly debugged by now – its had 10 years of managing the linux kernel, and a highly regarded author!

Subject: [DUG] Delphi & Git

HI All,
Has anyone had experience with Delphi and Git?

There appears to be a somewhat unsupported project called "RAD Studio Version Insight", and there is also TortoiseGit which works like TortoseSVN by working as an extension to Windows Explorer.

Some feedback on best practice and any horror stories as well to keep us on the right path.

cheers

Gary
