[DUG] Conversion training

Hi Stephen,

This time, I'll be constructive :P

I've found that some on-line training courses to be of great help.

Personally, I've have a yearly subscription to Pluralsight (
www.pluralsight.com).

This has an amazing number of quality on-line courses and there are a large
number of .net courses.

These courses cover from the basic fundamentals to advance stuff on various
.net frameworks and libraries.

On a cursory view of the pluralsight courses, I found a course on the
fundamentals of VB.net.

Unfortunately, you'll find that most courses (both on-line and
face-to-face) tend to lean towards C# development.

In any case the advantage of Pluralsight, is that the cost of subscription
($US299) is cheaper than sending a person onto a one-week .net training
course ( > $1000).
While, the training course is only for the one week, the Pluralsight
subscription is for 12 months which mean you can revisit the online
material as many times as you like in that 12 month period. Further, due to
the many number of courses, you can take the course which matches to your
level of knowledge and skip anything you feel is too basic and easy.

So your colleague's company can get a business annual subscription for 3-4
developers (US$299/person) for the same price as sending one developer for
a one-week training course.

Regards,
Colin
