[DUG] XE4 update

You can't really compare the situations.

Google makes all of their money from licensing platforms and advertising
and keeping as much information about their users as they can store.
Microsoft charges for tools. They have a free version but most companies
pay for the tool for development.
Embarcadero charge more than $99 for their tools and they have questionable
quality at the moment and still demand a high price (although they have a
special every month it seems). They also have to license the SDK from
Microsoft (don't know about OS X or iOS sdk licensing).

For $99 from apple you get your apps tested and verified plus you get to
use their development tools which are heaps better than they used to be.
The dev tools are free, you don't need to be an OS X dev program member to
deploy for OS X unless you want to deploy in the app store.

I think its a pretty good deal.

We get screwed on currency conversion by all companies not just apple.
Although apple are generally the best. Our price is 99 AUD. However our
dollar has just dropped 10% in a couple of weeks so the prices will no
doubt rise a little more now. Too bad, I was looking forward to getting an
r2-d2 computer next.
