[DUG] Delphi Specials

I would have to agree, the later versions of Delphi are far more
productive, Delphi 2006 was pretty buggy - but I'd use it over D7 any
day because of all the additional productivity features in it. If you
do any significant amount of coding, and your time is worth more than
$20/hr, you should probably upgrade (or buy a new license) to the latest
version of Delphi - and make an effort to learn it's new capabilities
(the time is the real expense).
If you upgrade from D4/5/6/7 to Delphi XE, and keep programming the same
way, you're certainly going argue that there are no new features. But
if you take some time and effort to train yourself on the new features
you will find yourself achieving so much more.
There are plenty of resources to up-skill yourself as well. There is
Marco Cantu <http://www.marcocantu.com/>'s books (Bob Swart
<http://www.drbob42.com/> has some also). There is also hundred's of
hours of video <http://delphi.wikia.com/wiki/Delphi_Videos>
and you can also monitor/subscribe to the Delphi Feeds
<http://www.delphifeeds.com/> page, which has many useful articles and
blog posts.
