[DUG] Finding system settings

I would like to find some system settings - 

eg volume ID of a drive (which might be a network drive), and time zone.   Any suggestions?

Related  - I recall seeing a unit somewhere years ago that showed a lot of windows settings (eg Windir) I am not sure what it was and where, anyone know of something good like that they recommend?
