[DUG] Sending SMSs

Hi,
It is a good question – does anyone have any recent experience with texting from apps? We are likely to want to head down that route soon. A google search will tell a lot but sometimes the actual real-world developer experience is hard to judge so any first hand tales would be great to hear.
Regards,
David.

@David - In the case of Vodafone it's not even a question of "fair use". The standard terms covering Unlimited TXT services on Vodafone specifically and explicitly prohibit application-to-person messaging (among other things). You would be in breach as soon as you send just 1 TXT of that sort, never mind a significant number of them.
I am sure the other telcos have similar provisions in their terms.

Until your mobile service provider decides your use is outside of "fair use" policies. Good luck :)
Otherwise I've used Texta (back in late 2013, shop around things will be different now) It was 500 messages for $57.50 NZD.

Hi Rohit,
If I were you, I will develop an android app running on a low end android phone to act a sms gateway to send message using android phone. I guess that you only need to pay the sms message you are sending without any other fees. :-)

We are using Message Media to send texts from our applications. But
they are very expensive. What are other people using ?
