[DUG] Reporting Engines

There have been many reporting engines in the life of Delphi. They come and they go.

RB is the only one that has endured. The code is high quality, the support is great, and it does absolutely everything you could ever want.

I guess the reason to not like it is because it costs.

Actually, I found reportbuilder to have been the best reporting engines I have ever used.

It has been especially useful for even those really difficult, single page, report everything, several reports on the single page, color & graphs, reports that had to go out every month.

Hi Alister,

I am sorry but I do not share Tony’s confidence in ReportBuilder.

We use ReportBuilder for Delphi 2007 at PowerShield. Support is very good, the product is average. It has a number of quirks that had to be compensated for. One of the things I dislike is the lack of information it provides when you do something wrong.

I am not sure if I would select ReportBuilder again.

Best regards,

Paul

We are looking at report engines in Delphi and was wondering if any DUG members would like to comment. Currently we are leaning towards FastReports - what are other members using, and are they happy?
