[DUG] XE8 with Castalia and MMX

Yes uninstalling MMX or disabling Castalia (using /NOCASTALIA command line option) fixes the issue of access violation.

Don’t have a solution that allows both on some PCs.

It is possible that the IDE was not run before installing MMX on the PCs with the issue – it was run on one of the PCs where Castalia and MMX are working OK, which means that there may be no solution apart from reinstalling the IDE...

Hi John,

Did you try removing MMX. When I first installed XE8 I had similar issue and the reason found was the MMX. We reported the error to Model Maker and they suggested us to first install XE8 run the IDE once before installing MMX.

This step fixed the issue for me.

Thanks
Razal

XE8 comes with Castalia built in, here 2 of the users have both working, 2 others can have either Castalia or ModelMaker MMX (11.2.0) installed but not both.
Castalia can be disabled with /NOCASTALIA on the command line switch.
Error we get is on IDE startup “Access violation at address 20441561 in module ‘coreide220.bpl’. Read of address 0000003D.”
  Dies at that point.
(We are already installing everything as Administrator, and running the IDE as same.)
Can anyone shed any light on the problem or know of any solution?
