[DUG] Button hints access violation

Hi John
We once had an app (D2007) that would produce an access violation on
close if the speed button hint had been shown. Hints weren't required
and so we got around the issue by disabling them.
Some years later I discovered a memory leak in the app. Fixing this
leak allowed the app to run with hints !
Long story short, try looking for a memory leak :)
