Don't be too sad . at least you get:
- always working code autocompletion/typeahead/codeformatting/etc in the IDE
- a language that has some nice features(not just generics, also nullable
datatypes, extension methods, dynamic objects, native support for
multitasking/threading, LINQ, etc)
- a proper environment for web development (not just mediocre IntraWeb
components)
- a framework loaded with thousands of goodies (charting, networking,
regular expressions, cryptography, GDI+, etc)
- components that actually work on Vista Glass without any issues
- components that don't need to be separately installed into the IDE (no
more messing around with runtime/design packages after a computer reinstall)
- a huge ecosystem of developers . practically an answer to every single
question you would ever want to ask has likely already been answered
somewhere, just need google to find it!
- help files that are actually helpful - not like the Delphi-help (whoever
at Borland changed it after delphi7 should be tarred and feathered and put
in a birdcage at a zoo!)
- etc.
Don't get me wrong . I am not trying to troll here - just my honest opinion
that VS2010 has a lot of good stuff in it that I miss in DelphiXE2.
Regards,
Stefan

Well I suppose it serves me right to have left it until the last minute.
I've spent the last few days trying to get Delphi XE, but the local site
wouldn't process anything as it couldn't process the order each time. I
tried getting it direct from the States, but I couldn't remember the email
address I had registered the last one under so it wouldn't process anything
for me (even though it kept sending me "you are able to upgrade" messages to
my personal email address).
Ah well, I guess this means that the decision to move to C# and .NET has
been made. Sadly.
Have a wonderful new year everyone.
