[DUG] D2009 or later version suggestion....

Thanks for those links....

I use pretty much a vanilla D2007 installation with almost no add-ons because:

1 - I Like to be able to move to another version of Delphi with minimal fuss - When I moved to D2007 it took around 1 hour for installing and setting up a small number of freeware 3rd party components and get under way compiling :)

2 - Wherever possible I try to do everything with standard VCL, as almost every is there - I generally prefer to go to later versions of Delphi rather than install many add-ons as I find it more useful to have the newer components such as XP themed/Vista themed components than 3rdparty components in general...

What do others regard as most must-have add-ons for the IDE?

I have seen some of the names - JEDI, Castalia, MMX etc, so and always wondered about them - JEDI seems to have almost no documentation.

It looks like much of the features of Castalia and MMX is already in D2007 - are they more aimed at earlier versions?

Also many of the power features of the standard IDE are very hard to discover.....for instance although I have seen others demonstrate declaring a local variable while writing code in D2006/D2007, I have never yet found out how to do it.
