I use a cheapy in the US www.webhost4life.com.  US$4.95 a month.  I've not
had any major problems or download speed problems.  10 email addresses;
unlimited traffic.  My site uses around 18GB a month; ASP, PHP, Perl, CGI
scripting engines SQL, MS Access; 99.9% uptime guaranteed; 1GB hard drive
storage.

I moved from RegisterDirect to KiwiWebHost www.kiwiwebhost.co.nz . I looked
and registered at cheapies in the past, but usually you get a "Lada" for
your money. What I missed e.g. is the use of multiple email
addresses/aliases.
So my advice is, be careful where you move to and compare their features.
