[DUG] Slightly OT

I've been buying from Ingram Micro/Tech Pacific/Imagineering or whatever
they've been called since they were about a 5 person company in Wairau Rd 20
years ago.

However, in recent years when I can be bothered I shop around using pricespy
or more often than not supercheappc.biz. When it's for resale to a customer
I'll usually buy from IM as it's a normal monthly trade account, but lately
they've been terrible to deal with. Ever since IM took over TechPac and they
moved to Wiri it's been hopeless especially if you need to get a part in a
hurry (forget it).

Since PBTech recently opened on the North Shore, I've had a trade account
with them and they've been excellent to deal with. One of the best things is
that they are open 7 days and usually have good stock levels. A couple of
weeks ago I had a server overheating and needed a cpu cooler on a Sunday -
no problem, had a big range to choose from. Pricing on some things are
cheaper than IM and others slightly more (and they don't have the same huge
range of products), but they are a lot easier to deal with.

regards,
Steve
