I have had a quite an extensive look through the VCL4PHP code and, although I
like the concept, I can't say I'm that impressed with the implementation.
There are a number of silly assumptions.
The first that springs to mind is the idea that a web page should only contain
"one" form. What a ridiculous constraint!
Also there is a lot of duplicated code and tight coupling between the classes.
Not to mention the fact that every control is database aware. Yuck.
The ajax stuff requires every component in the form to be completely
regenerated and then all the html from the controls that haven't changed is
discarded. How slow and inefficient. I would have thought at least an
observer pattern could have been introduced here.
