Yeah, but it's basically the same thing that's happening under the hood 
for 'real' transparency on XP... except that the GDI transparency hacks 
get to hook the repaint and such for everything 'under' a transparent 
window.

Of course all this is moot if all you /really/ want is have 100% 
transparent sections on an otherwise opaque form - you can use clipping 
regions for that.
