[DUG] Trouble with NT Services starting on Server 2003

Hi Gary,

Not sure whether this is relevant, but I once had a little console
application that worked on just about every Windows OS, except Small
Business Server 2003. In the end I found some MAPI initialization code in
one of the units that caused a failure. For some reason, MAPI is not
installed on Small Business Server 2003. I removed that initialization code
(wasn't needed) and all was well. The only way I found it in the end was to
install Delphi on such a machine and debug the problem.

Regards

Xander

[Reply]

HI Robert,

The issue I feel is more to do with the Services infrastructure, as the
service itself is working ... we can use it... only Windows has reported
that the Service didn't "start in a timely fashion", and shows it's status
as "starting" ... so you cannot stop and restart etc.

And it works OK on Windows Server 2003 Web Edition.

Maybe this Small Business edition of Server 2003 has some issues!!

ferustrating!

cheers

Gary
