[DUG] [OFF-TOPIC]:What ever happened to?

Hi Paul,
The Helper classes were created to allow the VCL to sit on top of the
.NET framework giving Delphi programmers something Microsoft .NET
developers could not have - a large degree of interoperability between
their Win32 and .NET code base.
Delphi does not require the Helper classes to "do what C# does". Borland
"owns" the language and could do anything they wanted with it. See here
for stuff C# cannot do:

Sure have - did not impress, just Delphi doing .Net nothing to make
Delphi shine-out over C# (having helper classes to try and do the thing
C# does does not inspire faith...). Remember when Delphi started, and
until recently, compare Delphi to the competitors C++, VB, Visual-C,
etc. and Delphi Shone-out as being far far superior - IMHO the same
cannot be said any more :-(
