<div>Anyone heard how Skype is going to be affected by its new owners (Microsoft), as this is no doubt relevant to both Delphi and Windows 8.....Last I heard I think Skype is written mainly in D2007 or later..Are they likely to rewrite all the Delphi stuff (I am betting they won’t – well not fast anyway). But Skype is expected to be well integrated into new Windows various versions.....And that alone gives some hint of how Delphi products might end up living on Windows 8.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Also wondering how alternative platforms of Skype will last....is it the end of Skype for Linux/Android/iOS?</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Which also raises the question – are there any reasonable alternatives to Skype. I am particularly interested in Skype-in – where a local NZ number can be redirected to find a user on Skype – does any other VOIP software do this too in NZ? (Google Voice looks to be US only)</div>
