well I hate to quote an old cliche, I need a new challenge, but its true, but also actually I am completely fed up now. I started typing WHY I am fed up.....but its just going to come across wrong so I have decided not to say......Its jsut time to move on.

Learning the language is easy, learning the framework is more challenging, mainly because it's HUGE. However, MSDN documention is excellent (once you get used to it) and there are zillions of examples on the web.

That has changed a bit over recent years, but we have not had the time to look at C#. I have had a quick look at Prisim but once again no real oportunities you use it.
I WANT to leave my current job. I have been here for 8.5 years and NEED a change, but I stuck because our organsiation had not moved with this times and I cant really apply for a .net role.
We did do a vb.net training course 5 years ago....never used it !

I must admit too, that .Net had not really "spun my wheels" becasue I really dont like the whole .net overhead and having to deal with .net installations as part of an installation process.
Delphi is just one exe and windows, simple. (well thats a bit general, but you get my point)

I have heard too that C# is meant to be easy-ish if you come from a Delphi back ground. I that a true statement?

Most of the companies that had delphi developers now have 1 or 2 maximum on staff. the rest is outsourced offshore, or they are now using other languages and following modern trends of c# etc.

I am in the position of writing and selling software, so choosing delphi is fine.. my customers are not concerned by the language used, only the end product..

More and more, I see other bigger companies ditch delphi for other languages.. So I said no hope, meaning.. If you loose your delphi employment, and are seeking a new job as an employee, rather than as an independant software vendor.. its getting slimmer and slimmer pickings in the market.
