I have a question....whats the deal with the licesnse for distributing an app using the ribbon control? I noticed a message about this when it was installing......

Jeremy C.

On Thu, Nov 20, 2008 at 2:17 PM, Jeremy North <jeremy.north@gmail.com> wrote:

Depending on whether you installed for "All Users" or just yourself,
the demos could be in two places. I believe you also have/had the
opportunity to set a custom install location for the demos in the
installer.

Assuming you are using XP.

<My Documents>\RAD Studio\6.0\Demos
<All Users>\Documents\RAD Studio\6.0\Demos

If you have questions about the Ribbon specifically you can email me
directly. I wrote it for CodeGear, so if I don't know the answer,
we're in trouble.

There are a couple of help topics you could look at as well.

ms-help://embarcadero.rs2009/devwin32/win32_ribboncontrols_xml.html
(which has outdated info as well btw).
ms-help://embarcadero.rs2009/devwin32/win32_ribboncontrols2_xml.html

The outdated info in the first is not a real issue, although be aware
that there is NO new wizard application repository item included.

I have an IDE expert that can convert current user interfaces (that
use either ActionManager or TMainMenu) into a Ribbon interface. If you
(or anyone else that reads this) would like to beta test this send me
an email. The install for the expert also includes a New Ribbon
Application repository item, which takes all of the "setup" steps out
of the equation.

Marco Cantu also is updating his book for Delphi 2009 and it should be
available on lulu soon. I tech edited the chapter on the ribbon for
him.

cheers,
Jeremy

PS: Don't know if the message will make the list, so I have copied you
in as well.
