font-family:Arial'>Occasionally there is a loss of connection to the database
resulting in the applications going into io error.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

font-family:Arial'>We are using Delphi 2005, and BDE connections to Interbase
7.5.1 via the network.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

font-family:Arial'>OPC doesn’t present us with a problem as the OPC
server resides on the same machine.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><font size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:Arial'>We wish to revamp these applications so that in the event of
a temporary loss of connection to the database it will catch this and recover
rather than getting an IO issue.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
