In a follow up to the responses from my query I now find that what Esignal calls
its ActiveX API does not actually use ActiveX but Type Library about which I am
not familiar. This would also indicate I presume that it will not work with
D5,D6 or D7. Again I suppose Type Library is part of .Net which I have tried to
ignore and have been advised to continue to do so.

The Russian programmer tells me that he has tried with D2006 but is still unable
to import the data and gets the error message I reported on earlier. Has anyone
got any other suggestions now that I have delineated the problem a little more
