[DUG] Delphi Debug Mode very slow

I am using Delphi XE10 and Windows 10, and I notice that program operation
in debug mode is very slow, with the main form taking up to a minute to
load, and loading new forms during the program almost as bad, whereas the
release version is a second or two.  

 

My computer support person thinks it is caused by a recent Windows upgrade
to guard against Meltdown and Spectre.  I would like to know if others are
experiencing this sort of problem, and if so, is there any solution?
