Hi

The repair did the job! Thanks a lot for the tip.

If you had D7 already installed and upgraded to W10 then some of the installation might have been overwritten – I had a similar issue with D2007.

The solution was to run a repair install and all came right. (Some include files in .NET stuff were lost). Run the install as administrator often needed.

Also you might try running the IDE as administrator.

Or revert to Windows 8/8.1.

I had to do that – not for Delphi which worked fine, but for core networking – despite having only a 18 month old HP top end laptop, the drivers for WIFI and networking simply don’t work for Windows 10 and there seem to be no working updates yet. The only part that worked seemlessly was the roll back to Windows 8.1

Subject: [DUG] D7 on W10

Hi all

I know, D7 is an old one, but a handy one as some of you may still use so once and a while. Here is my question: I have upgraded from W8 to W10. I used to have a perfectly working D7 on my W8, but now on W10 it doesn't seem to run anymore. Any ideas or suggestions or is it just impossible?

Thanks for any help.
