[DUG] Installing Delphi 7 onto laptop with no CD drive

myOffice Email MessageAnother thing that will help, if you are on Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 these can natively open ISO files. (That and 3 finger scrolling made Windows 8 better than 7 despite the ‘orrible start menu). Otherwise get Virtual CLone drive with its lovely sheep logo.
Just right click and open them, maps to a drive letter, just like opening a zip file except you can do anything with it without having to extract all files first. So you could copy the ISO file onto the external USB drive and install it from there if you can open it with Windows. (You likely won’t be able to write any files into the opened image/mapped drive though not surprisingly).
Or find any WIndows 8/8.1/10 PC and just copy all the files and folders out into a folder on your external USB drive.
When they say the installer needs 28 or 30 GB etc disk free, take it seriously, have seen it fail, its likely a MSI/ all sorts of temp files thing.

[Reply]
If it has an internet connection, then RDP into another machine with Delphi 7 on it ...
Over a wifi it should be perfect, but still usable over the Net.
cheers
