[DUG] Anti virus software

I use avira-free at the moment. Not too unhappy with it, but I don't think
it ever found something that I wasn't actually already aware of being dodgy.
The few instances you wanted to have something checked i could have probably
gotten away with just using the online version of
https://www.virustotal.com/ ... and running it in www.sandboxie.com

If you are reasonable proficient/smart with computers then there is not much
need for a antivirus software running all the time in the background to slow
things down. But I think I will still stick to my setup I have right now,
just in case something slips through - after all I do release my software to
over a thousand companies/government organizations worldwide and wouldn't
want to deal with the blowback/reputation loss if my software ever would
contain a virus.

Kind Regards,
Stefan Mueller

it has worked perfectly for me for the past 5 years (continuous use) and
longer, cumulatively, over the past 20+.

I agree. Every program I have tried has slowed my machine down dramatically.
Ended up uninstalling them all and now run free and wild.
