I've been writing purely Firemonkey for at least 2 years now and I find the TListBox and it's associated ListBoxItems a great way to display data.
Once you get the hang of Styles it opens up great variety of options. 
Even if I just wanted Win32/64 applications I'd personally use firemonkey because the TListBox works for me (I understand that others may feel differently about firemonkey).
