[DUG] Work Wanted in Wellington

Hmm I will try to not take that personally!

Because I have done work on an application that indeed is currently Delphi 5 and has possibly nearly 300 forms. Actually it is pretty awesome as it is an elegant MVC design, with business units, forms, and datamodules so everything is separated. Written to allow multi-tier operation as well. And they are converting to XE6 over the current months. I think I can defend it as I didn’t write it.

ps I had to Google Figjam. As good as PEBKAC and PICNIC

There can be your figjam type and the type which just aren't aware. The developers that have been stuck at one company still using delphi 5 and just don't know that things have changed around them. The type that thinks because the application has 300 forms, it must be awesome :-)

I would say that one big difference between those who THINK they are good and those who actually ARE good, is that someone who only THINKS they are good will rarely - if ever - admit to having made a mistake. They are, after all, just too good.

Someone who IS good more often knows that they only became good through having made mistakes and learned from them (and be able to explain their mistake(s) and what they learned from each one).
