You will probably find that getting 512MB of contiguous early on in
startup is much more likely to succeed that doing it on the fly later
after dlls etc have been loaded. This is unle4ss you use a lot of dlls
statically and their base addresses are splattered all over the process
address space. Another possible option would be to alter the OS boot
options to allow 3G process space and set the Executable bit to allow it
to use up to 3G of address space.
