I ended up going with the Dropbox idea.

Its prob. The least “mess” solution.

I just need to be disciplined about it now :)

Hi Jeremy

Like any other local repository. A command that requires a URL takes the form file:/// <file:///\\> instead of http://
eg.
svn info file:///C:/Documents <file:///C:\Documents> and Settings/Jeremy/My Documents/My Dropbox/My Project

Also if you're using the repository browser in Tortoise, you need to specify the URL as above. Note the forward slashes!

Also make sure your svn clilent is capable of browsing a local repository. If you are using Tortoise, you're already set to go.

Cheers,
Todd.

Hi Todd. Yeah David M. yelled it out to me this morning at work :-)

How does the File:/// <File:///\\> bit work?

Hi Jeremy

Why not use a sub-folder in your local DropBox folder to create an svn file:/// <file:///\\> repository. Like using an external drive, but available online.

Todd.

Hi guys. Doe any one know of any offsite SVN repository hosts, free or pay ?

I want to keep an offline copy of my code that is not a zip file, and has a history etc.

I know I can use an external drive and all that, but would rather not go down that road if pos.

I know I can zip up the code and fire it to Dropbox or to my 50gb Mega.co.nz <http://Mega.co.nz> site, but it was really the svn part I am looking for.

Thanks, Jeremy
