[DUG] XE3 - Unable to compile component Project

I know the fun you are having. I did a D6 to D2010 conversion recently.  The
hardest topic was converting the OLE-Automation in D6 to that in D2010. 
It can be done.  I am using MS Word as a document engine.

I am in the middle of migrating components from Delphi 2007 to XE3.

Most are going through, with hours of issues over pchar/pansichar, tbookmark
(redefined using generics), tformatsettings (why the hell is it a class
now).

Now I am stuck.
When I open this projectgroup , it fails saying "Unable to load project
path.bdsproj" and removes all the projects from the group. The path shown is
for D2007 not XE3, which is weird - where is it getting the old path from (I
have already deleted all files the ide creates) ?  And bdsproj does not
exist.

If I add the project manually to the group, I get the same error.

Any ideas ?
