Absolutely workable... and dear I say it you can additionally when quicker
or easier than canvas manipulation even use something as simple as PHP as a
back end to poll databases, prepare graphics (GD, ImageMagick etc) pdf
(various), swf (if you must) for direct insertion/response to jQuery Ajax
page portion requests ...
