I suspect in many cases just one person from each workplace (or none as
others have commented!) has replied so the replies are more a count of what
workplaces are doing rather than of individuals.
We fall into that category (also I don't think anyone else here is on DUG
either).
David.

Richard may well be better able to comment on this, but my perception over the years is that there are various categories of "Delphi Programmers". There are many in corporate environments who never joined this List, that are not the self driven nuts that manyof us are, making posts to the List at 1am in the morning, etc.
There are those that are not allowed to participate in this group, or any public forum, for various reasons - some security, some paranoia.
So exactly how many active Delphi programmers is a little hard to determine. Also their percentage of Delphi use compared to their other activities can be hard to judge.

Hi John,
I have been on this list for quite some time now, an avid follower of all the threads that come up. However 99% of the time (this being the other 1%) i am quite happy to just lurk and read other peoples responses.
The reality is i DO have the time, interest, and knowledge to respond to many threads, however i usually prefer to sit back and watch how others respond to the threads and eventually they develop till a point where there is a response that would be similar to anything i would post anyways.
I do apologise that this does not help build the community, but i would be reasonably confident there are a few people in the same boat as me, that just like to lurk.
Cheers
Anthony.

Thanks for that Gary
I'm actually quite surprised about this relatively high number of DUG members. At the same time I'm equally surprised about the low number of replies to this questionnaire (ONLY 11%). Note that this questionnaire started before the holidays on the 12th of December, so the holidays should not be an excuse.
My gut feeling is that:
10% are 'active' DUG members submitting regularly to the list with questions and answers :-)
50% are interested however just don't have the time, interest or knowledge to reply :-(
40% may not even know that they are still on the list
Given that I wonder how many members usually show up on a Delphi seminar? I would not be surprised this number would be less than 10%.
Cheers
John

HI all,
Currently 212 confirmed members on the Delphi List. The Mailman Listserver automatically removes subscribers if their emails bounce > 5 times, so the figure is reasonably accurate.
cheers
