What is the benefit to become a certified one?

Anyway, Todd's comment reminded me of this next point. As some of you aspire to be Professional from time to time, you may be interested in the NZ Computer Society and their current moves to introduce the "Certified IT Professional" qualification in NZ, modelled on the British system, and includes software professionals.
