[DUG] Crash but not stackdump

Having problem with a application (running detached) which crashes. 
syserror is redirected to a file but the file is empty. I think the 
crash is coming from inside a 3rd party DLL that the application is 
statically linked to.
system and application event logs are empty. Anyone got ideas on how to 
track or better still protect against
such a crash?
