[DUG] database protocol help (off topic)

 Hello everyone,

Sorry this is off topic not related to Delphi.

But i hope if someone can answer this.

Actually  i am writing a flat file based database for my company but with
more user friiendly featuer like SQL server.

I have some doubt like in database like sql server or pervasive there is
some connection using TCP. NETBIOS.

Any one have any clue how this protocl work in gemral with respect to
database  server. Does these protocol realy usefil

I am sorry i might sound ignorant here.

I am writing database using delphi 6.

I am able to desing normal things like creating database table, restore,
back up and even query analyser screen like sql server.
But someone said when u use client server concept this prtocol might help.

But i am not sure
