Hi Trevor,
I never said that Linux is our only alternative option. I'm just exploring
the possibilities.
You can't understand why someone want to exploring other posibilities? I
suppose unless you want to lock yourself in Windows+Delphi world, you would
like to see whether there's any other alternatives around. People want to
save money some time as well.
Cheers,
Edward

Edward,
I don't really have any answers, but can I suggest that Linux is not the
only alternative to Windows?
Linux is a Unix variant, as is BSD. If you target POSIX rather than
either Linux or BSD, you might end up with something that also works on a
Mac.
Why anyone would ever want to do such a thing is left as an exercise for the
young, foolish, or really clever people much smarter than me.
