My $0.02
1. My opinion is mixed on this. They have made major strides since D7,
it's a bit unfair to expect things to be the same and yet have lots of
new features. That being said the only major change to the look of the
user interface of our main product has been to update all the images on
the buttons from 16 colour BMPs to 32bit PNGs (which has involved my
drawing hundreds of buttons)
2. I agree that the help sucks
3. I think this relates to the help sucking
4. This sounds like paranoia to me - but just because your paranoid
doesn't mean they're not out to get you.
5. I've ditched D7 completely now (if only I could get rid of VS2003,
but CodeGear have dropped their plans for the Compact Framework). But
I'm a lone developer so I have a bit of flexibility in this regard.
6. Yes, I did the begin, type in end; then have to delete it because it
was added automatically in my latest video. Fortunately only a few
hundred people will probably watch it so it's not too embarrassing.
7. I noticed the underscore issue with code completion the other day,
with regards to the clipboard format constants CF_BITMAP for instance,
type CF and it finds stuff, type in CF_ and it finds nothing, CF_B and
you're away again, in fact this was for my last video also.
