Still no Help at all. Where can I go to resolve this, or anyone got any
suggestions where to troubleshoot - eg what are the help files called and
where are they located so I can check they are there, and where are the
settings where the IDE goes to look for them??
(The only non-standard thing I did was to install the main D2007 RAD files
under D:\BigPrograms instead of C:\Program Files)
So far I am referring to the fabled D2007 Help as "The Norwegian Blue Parrot
Help"
Mr. Praline: Never mind that, my lad. I wish to complain about this Parrot
Help System what I purchased not half an hour ago from this very boutique.
Owner: Oh yes, the, uh, the Norwegian Blue Help
System...What's,uh...What's wrong with it?
Mr. Praline: I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. 'E's dead,
that's what's wrong with it!
Owner: No, no, 'e's uh,...he's resting.
Mr. Praline: Look, matey, I know a dead Parrot Help when I see one, and
I'm looking at one right now.

On moving real projects to D2007:
I have now loaded and compiled my largest project in D2007 and it works fine
- about 15 forms including Rave Reports. So far I am very happy.
I only had to fix one small problem - D2007 caught a "no-no" I had got away
with on D2006 where in a form onActivate event I tested some conditions and
if some were met I closed the form - D2007 does not allow form.hide in the
onActivate event, and I can live with that. I am now going to use D2007 for
all real work
*WARNING* Primitive Neanderthal section follows - don't read this if you are
easily offended:
In the meantime I have installed the Delphi 5 Help into the tools menu:
(You can modify this for other versions of Delphi)
Tools/Configure/Add
Title: Delphi 5 Help Winhlp32
Program: WINHLP32
Working Dir: C:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi5\Help
Parameters: C:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi5\Help\Delphi5.hlp
.....And
Title: Delphi5 Win32SDK
Program: WINHLP32
Working Dir: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Borland Shared\MSHelp
Parameters: win32.hlp
If anyone one wants to access earlier Delphi help this is a good way to
access it. The main advantage of the earlier helps is that they are very
fast compared to the current help systems. And at least it works of
course...
Note under Vista WINHLP32.EXE is not present, but you can apparently copy it
on from an XP machine (as Zarko says "you can do that but you didn't hear it
from me")
