Yeah, it's a pain. Try using ctrl+click on the unit name instead.

I just tried again, its permanent. Very very frustrating, while I am trying
to migrate 3rd party libraries quickly. As yet again Declarations and units
appear to have changed.

Is there any reason that it cant find my files. The compiler finds them but
the IDE (when I press ctrl-enter) shows the filename without the .pas and
says it could not find it. On the odd occasion, when the dialog pops up, it
cant find it either unless I append the suffix .pas.
