In principle, you are correct.

However, I am somewhat sceptical about the chances of something like the
type library editor getting fixed if it hasn't been fixed between D5 and
D10...

It's not worth my time bleating about that particular issue since I know
how to work around it.

make sure that any issues you have are entered in qc
(http://qc.codegear.com/wc/qcmain.aspx) and make some noise in the
appropriate newsgroup to ensure the reports get opened..
