well....simple. I have Kylix sitting in front of me on a CD :-)
Here is what I am trying to acheive.
I need a wee app. that will run like a windows service, I guess its a Daemon
in Linux, that looks at a dir. for a file,a nd if the file exists, send the
contents out a comport or better still TCP Port to an IP address
Its not rocket science, but liek I say, not being a Linux person I am not
too clear on some of the bits and peices around linux, but I DO know that
most of the controls I would use are availible for Kylix and I use them in
Win32, so I have a head start there....sort of :-)

Just like to say, why Kylix? Kylix is obviously dead.
What about FreePascal + Lazarus? is that an option for what you are
trying to achieve?
