[DUG] The "xxx.bdsproj.local" file frustration

Steve, found my email to the delphi list from Dec 2004

After fighting it some more I have found that it grabs the dof file
when you convert a pre2005 project over and sticks the contents
into its new xml file bdsproj.

D2005 not only grabs the contents, it also adds them to its
defaultproject file. Then every new project gets a dump from here...
much like a virus.

The problem is that since D3 this file has been growing with
migration to every new version and hasnt affected D5 and D7.
D2005, however, apart from plain not compiling a project or
complaining about file not found etc crashes in a major way.

Suggestion #xxyyzz delete the dof file before you migrate an older
project. And prune out entries in the registry and the defaultproj file
manually at the first sign of trouble.
Regards

Rohit
