Yuck!
Wonder if that will happen to us as well. Could be using Vista
virtualisation?

Who is the service running as?
Does it have a XP manifest?

Can you see it in task manager?

Anyone else having trouble getting a service they have written to work
on Vista?
My service runs fine on XP and debug code fails to even execute at
servicestart procedure.
Computer management tool reports started Ok?
Suspect new security feature at play.
