InterBase is embedded already?

Do you mean the DLL only version? Answer - I have absolutely no idea on
licensing. They already have a roadmap that says embedded is in the next
release of InterBase. 

We are currently pushing for a change in licensing so you can deploy a
desktop or server license that can access 1/2/3/x databases for
significantly less cost. I don't know if it will get approved though.
But if it is cost you have an issue with, please talk to us - CodeGear
!= Borland. (No, please don't come up with set theory variations of the
!= :-)
