[DUG] Play a movie from a stream

I need to play a video clip (with audio) from a memory stream instead of 
a file (don't even want to create a temporary file). I've spent half a 
day scouring the web for suitable solutions but have found nothing.

I don't really care what format the player supports (as long as it has a 
good quality playback) since I can probably convert the clips to 
whatever format is required.

Any one solved this problem before?
