Yeah I agree. He really did get a bit pissed :)
I have to agree with Paul Brislen, whenever something is for sale the
Seller ALWAYS overstates the interest in the product. If Borland had
said no, real interest so far but its early days (not that im saying
thats the case), then they would be dead in the water when it comes to
talking dollars with a buyer, can you imagine it....
Buyer, I want to buy your software division.
Borland, OK 1 Billion $.
Buyer, Come of it, 50k. Take it or leave it.
Borland, We have other options.
Buyer, Laughs, knowing thats not the case.
As for Nicks whole 'they would be in serious legal trouble if they
lied'... Come if it! If they lied and it when to court (as if), they
could simply state their definition of interest was 'how much chat group
interest created' or some such.
If I was brislen I would have given up far earlier.
