HI Guys,

Sorry to wade in late on this one, but some additional info:

You, or your client will need to have a Credit card merchant account with your/their Bank. They will charge you a % for this pleasure on all transactions.

If you use a clearing house that provides a gateway, such as DPS etc, they will also charge you a fee for their function (usually on top of what the Bank will charge you).

If you want to roll your own, most banks (and I know BNZ do as we use them) will give your access to their system direct. (Phil, you can step in here as well). They also recommend Transactor 2000 for those who want some help here. This is preferable for high volume sites as the setup costs are easily covered over a short time. Unlike using DPS etc where you continue to pay.

I use DPS for two clients where there is low volume of transactions, and low setup cost was appropriate.

But if you're getting serious, then go direct.

Note that DPS also handle Amex and Diners.

kind regards

Gary
